PropShopTrader for US Traders: An Estonian Firm That Files 1099s

PropShopTrader is registered in Estonia but explains US tax forms in its own help center. Here's what that tells you, and what the 25% code on its homepage is.

PropShopTrader sells futures challenges on Tickblaze and Rithmic, plus a day-trading program on US stocks.

The company behind it is registered in Estonia, which makes the US question worth asking. Its own help center answers it in an unusual place: the tax section.

Can Americans buy PropShopTrader?

Can a US resident buy this?

Yes. They issue 1099s to US traders, and the US is in their checkout country list.

We tested it. Their guest checkout lists United States. The list is unfiltered, though: it also includes sanctioned countries such as Iran and North Korea, so it doesn't prove much on its own. The tax article above is the stronger evidence.

“Yes, U.S. traders will receive a 1099 form.” — their own words
“If you are a U.S. citizen, U.S. resident, or a U.S.-registered entity, you must fill out a W-9 form to provide your TIN.” — their own words

Is PropShopTrader a real, operating business?

Before a code matters, the company behind it has to be real and reachable. Here’s what PropShopTrader’s own site and documents tell us.

We haven’t yet confirmed the year it started operating from PropShopTrader’s own documents. That isn’t an accusation. It means it’s still on our list, and we won’t fill the gap from other review sites.

What we found ourselves

  • PropShopTrader is an Estonian company (PropShopTrader OÜ, Tartu, register no. 16949893), but its help center explains W-9s and 1099s for US traders. That means it pays Americans and reports to the IRS.
  • The 25% code PST is the firm's own public promotion, shown across its homepage. It isn't a code we negotiated, and we haven't tested it at checkout.

Before you buy

  • Caps on each payout

Funded payouts are capped per request: $1,500 on a 25K Pro, $1,000 on 25K Flex and Direct. There's no limit on how many payouts you request.

  • No trading within 3 minutes of news

Opening a position within 3 minutes before or after a news event is prohibited, and the firm decides what counts as a news event.

  • Stocks are day-trade only

The equities program covers 101 approved US symbols at up to 2:1 leverage. Overnight holding isn't allowed, and positions close at 15:55 EST.

  • The terms belong to a white-label provider

The dashboard and Client Terms are run by the Prop Account group (Prop Account LLC, Forest Park FX LTD, Prop Account Cayman). PropShopTrader OÜ in Estonia operates the brand.

Bottom line

Open to Americans, with one-time fees and end-of-day trailing drawdown. Mind the per-payout caps, and treat the PST code as the firm's own public promo, not a negotiated deal.
